The Problem
In the corporate world, employees have very less or no communication beyond work. Also, employees in one office of a company have no clue about what’s going on in another office of the same company. This leads to a sense of disconnect among employees as well as between employees & management.
The concept of CircleYard emerged from the thought of keeping globally distributed offices of Torana Inc. on the same page, primarily when it came to announcements & events.
It all started with the idea: what if pinboards become digital?
Traditional pinboards are disorganized & serve a single purpose. However, as soon as pinboards go digital, they become not only organized but also seamless, real-time & interactive. Eventually, we realized that many things could be done & achieved with an application like CircleYard. Like, it could help employees know each other better and feel connected. Apart from this, organizations are always striving to reduce attrition & achieve high productivity among their employees. We believe, the first step to do so is Employee Engagement. Because we have realized that people work & continue at a company not just for the salary. Good relationships and the feeling of connection give them another reason to feel excited about going to work & eventually be productive.
So, CircleYard is basically a digital pinboard which can be used by employees from anywhere, but what can be done with CircleYard is way more expansive.
CircleYard is a seamless application on which real-time content can be generated from anywhere using any device (laptops, desktop machines or handheld devices) & content can be consumed not only on these devices but also through the TV application (which can be installed in the lobbies of offices at distributed locations). So, there’s a vibrant pinboard with a technological spin for everyone, by everyone. And, ‘everyone’ means every employee in the company, whether in New Delhi or New York or Sharjah or Sydney. With CircleYard, we have built a platform for employees across all locations anywhere in the world to connect and socialize informally.
